HT26 Week 1 • Welcome Back

Welcome back to another (Jet Lag:) Oxford term! There’s plenty to get involved in, and we’re so excited about it we’re sending this sparkly email… with our even sparklier termcard! Don’t forget you can add our events to your digital calendar with the link below.

Here’s what you can expect in the first 2 weeks of the term, and a preview of our traditional termly London game. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reply to this email.

Week 1/2 Socials • Final Frames & All-New Games

Our weekly Thursday socials kick off this week with an exciting double bill: first, we'll be voting on the Vac Challenge entries, to find out which member drew the best Strava Picture over the winter holiday. Then, a Watch Party of episode 6 of Jet Lag's Hide + Seek: UK season! Join us to find out how the final run of the game goes and if we're lucky, complete more of our bingo card. In anticipation of this term’s Pilot Day , in week 2 our first Game Design Workshop of the term is a chance to suggest new formats, discuss existing games and complain about the Hide + Seek rulebook. If you’re interested in how JL:OX games work, or indeed have an idea to playtest, come along! This social will also feature another Watch Party, and it's the finale! Week 1 Game • Land Grab: Oxford

Speaking of new games, our first official run of Land Grab: Oxford is this weekend! This is a game based on Jet Lag's Schengen Showdown season, where players complete challenges to claim Oxford's wards. Get stuck into some classic JL:OX strategy whilst exploring parts of the city you don't usually get to (that's right, get excited for WOLVERCOTE!!!), with the first 6 points on the termcard up for grabs... Saturday 24/01, 09:30 - 18:00 • Sign-ups close on Thursday Night

Week 5 Game • CAPITAL: London

Looking ahead to later in the term, there’s of course a big London game - this time, a favourite from the Long Vac returns. In CAPITAL , teams traverse the city as Business Magnates, aiming to own as many London boroughs as possible. This game is all about risk, and like Jet Lag’s AU$TRALIA, every challenge is a wager - be careful! Also, we think it would be funny if as many of us wear suits as possible. That bit’s optional! Make sure to book your own trains between Oxford and London in advance - all the information’s in the sign-up form. Saturday 21/02, 10:00 - 19:30 • Sign-ups close in Week 4
